Those pants were TTTTTTTTIGHT to the GODS!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's NOT a good look to be introduced as the "FIRST PLATINUM SELLING GOSPEL GROUP" and THEN come out on stage looking a BROKE HORRID MESS!!!

Heather Headley and Smokie Norful worked OUT the classic "Jesus Is Love" but I couldn't help but notice Heather's skirt was as tall as Smokie Norful!!

Heather Headley also won the award for the "BEST DRESSED" performer for the night! She looked so elegant but stood OUT at the same time and her PUMPS where giving LIFE!!!!

Really?!?!...

Great day...yes it is!

I have been having a lot of "REALLY?!?!?!" moments here and lately!

It's partially due to me being out of tune with certain aspects of my immediate surroundings and the other just not foreseeing some stuff before it happens because I'm not in-tune with one of my many motto's!

The "REALLY?!?!" factor is that moment when you're observing and/or listening to your surroundings and something "slips up" that probably should NOT have...kind of like Joe Biden's wife being on the Oprah Winfrey Show and saying VP Biden had the choice between "Secretary of State" or being the "Vice-President"...THAT'S a "REALLY?!?!?!" moment!

So my "REALLY?!?!" moments have been busting me RIGHT in the head over the course of these last couple weeks...like "FOOL OPEN YOUR EYES!"

Prime example of a "REALLY?!?!?" moment... I just found out someone who I considered and THOUGHT was a close friend has a PROBLEM with me and I have no earthly idea as to why!

So much so that hey are trying indirectly but yet directly to spark a "cold war" and be extremely TRIVIAL to obtain a response out of me that I refuse to be apart of... so I just sit back and say "REALLY?!?!?!"

I'm too wise AND mature to be apart of that foolishness...so I politely blew out my torch of "friendship" and passed it on...if someone thinks I'm going to engage in a raging war of insecurities they have ANOTHER thing coming...so here's to YOU "DELETER"...and oh..."REALLY?!?!"

The next "REALLY?!?!?!" moment...there has been some weird energy circulating around me and some things I know in my "suppressed" mind I need to pull up from and either minimize my involvement with but being the person I am I often concern myself with OTHER peoples feelings first before mine and that's just REALLY got to change!

It's NOT a universal feeling when it comes to others baring me in mind and I'm cool with that!!

But for people I've been connected with this change is going to be DRASTIC for them because they're not acustom to me doing me and not overly concerned about THEIR feelings before mine!

Therefore, I'm going to do me how I see fit and involve myself with what I see fit and most edifying to fulfilling my destiny!

I must say I don't get people smiling in your face and/or entertaining you and trying to be shadey on the LOW all at the same time...oh and you're NOT suppose to notice...it's like "REALLY?!?!"

I'm MANY of things but "slow" or "dumb" I'm far from...

My KEY motto in this game of life which keeps me focused and deciphers the magnitude of my interaction with people (and every once in a while I get knocked off my square because I don't remind myself of it) is to ALWAYS hear what's being SAID that's NOT being SAID!!

We communicate more then just "verbally" and I'm very observant and sometimes more then I REALLY care to be and sometimes MORE then what people around me WANT me to be!

So I can dig what goes down sometimes as a result of being this way but DAMN...don't let me have to find out the biz'ness through the "STREET COMMITTEE" and NOT expect to play scenarios back over in my mind (hindsight is 20/20) and see the reality of the situation and say "REALLY?!?!"

Compromised Standards...

Hellurs and GREAT day!

Today's hot topic is "compromised standards"...

We ALL are guilty from time to time with compromising our standards on many facets of life... but are there just some standards that shouldn't be compromised?

I mean when do we ever get to the point where we say enough is enough?

When do some patterns just simply become common?

One of the WORSE decisions to make in life AND act on are "emotional decisions"...they are hardly, if ever well thought out decisions or one with long term benefits!

Somewhere along the line "compromised standards" WILL conflict with well thought-out standards and values!

Why compromise and under mind your NEEDS for a temporary desire and/or want?

I mean once that temporary desire has been fulfilled or expired are we not placed BACK, if NOT further, too square one?

Don't compromise your standards!

trentjacksonlive: i'm sorry...the energy that is still trying to linger is a mess. Today was a very interesting day.

Tru Sinceer: First let me say as one of my BLOG inspirations thanks for granting me THIS interview! So what made today interesting?

trentjacksonlive: oh you're welcome. I'm a person like everyone else. But today was just a mess...Where do I begin? LOL...straight boys who want to test their gay tendencies with you, people who operate out of insecurity. crazyness of everyone else and their inability to deal with the shit they do and then trying to flip it on me like I'm the one with the problem, because I'm in tune with who I am.

Tru Sinceer: You know that's one of things I admire most about you...the fact that you KNOW who you are and you don't allow anyone to take that from you...listening to your shows over the past year or so it has taken you a great while and journey to get to that place...how comfortable are you NOW with perhaps dating someone who can make you compromise the confidence you NOW have?

trentjacksonlive: and the last dating situation i was in. So now that I am beyond that, that was the biggest lesson that I think i've learned in my life and it just basically showed me what I really deserve, not only dating, but the type of people I should be involved with in all aspects of my life.

Tru Sinceer: Gotcha! So what qualities your looking for and accepting?

trentjacksonlive: why are you asking me about my dating life?

Tru Sinceer: I think it's important to put our specifics in the atmosphere...the "laws of attraction"...we have to verbalize what we're seeking to make it partially manifested...lol

trentjacksonlive: it's very simple for me.

trentjacksonlive: has to have personality. Someone that can keep me guessing and keep me on my toes.

Tru Sinceer: Right...

trentjacksonlive: someone one who is an engaging conversationalist, but knows how to listen and knows when to be quiet.

Tru Sinceer: IMPORTANT!

trentjacksonlive: someone who is understanding, respectful, ambitious, focused, determined....he has to have the ability to compromise, be honest and be able to handle a strong personality...lol

trentjacksonlive: he has to be gentle, but strong when I need him to be.

Tru Sinceer: BBBBAAAABBBEEEE you putting it ALL in the atmosphere...lol...I LOVES IT!

trentjacksonlive: and very much a person that is in tune with who he is and where he wants to go, loves to travel...and can understand me as a person and me as an artist.

Tru Sinceer: I really do think you're an amazing author and radio personality...one of your claims is "I SAY WHAT PEOPLE ARE THINKING!" and 9 times out 10...you're right!

trentjacksonlive: I say so much I forget the things I say a lot of the time.

trentjacksonlive: But I am a person that feels and experiences a lot of heavy emotions

Tru Sinceer: Uh huh...

trentjacksonlive: and because other people go through a lot of things I experience alone...and we are so conditioned to hold everything in, be prideful and live in shame I think it's only fair for someone to speak the truth about life and how it really goes down. Specifically gay black men

trentjacksonlive: and I do that.

trentjacksonlive: and I try to present it in a medium where people can grasp and really take it in and use my life as a guide on what to do or not to do.

Tru Sinceer: You certainly do in TRUE Trent Jackson style...lol

trentjacksonlive: but I never really had anyone that "gave me life" growing up. I didn't really have people to look up to...and I remember what that was like and I always told myself that I never wanted anyone to feel what I felt as a child.

Tru Sinceer: You know...I think it's important that we face our past HEAD ON because if you don't your past will become your FUTURE!

trentjacksonlive: most certainly

Tru Sinceer: And there's no better way to give back and help people progress then sometimes being the example and person to say "Hey I been thru such and such..." and if I've come out of it so can you...but you have to make the CHOICE to MAKE the change! Know what I mean?

trentjacksonlive: most definitely.

trentjacksonlive: and it took me a minute to get there...

trentjacksonlive: but once I figured it out, there was no stopping me.

Tru Sinceer: AMON!

trentjacksonlive: and there were lots of people that were instrumental in that, but you have to be willing to make the change.

trentjacksonlive: you can't use any excuse, you are clearly in control of your own destiny...

trentjacksonlive: and it made more sense to me the other day.

Tru Sinceer: Who are some of your inspirations...known & unkown?

trentjacksonlive: lol, thats easy!

trentjacksonlive: first and foremost my Uncle DuWayne. He is someone who gives me life.

trentjacksonlive: he's fast tracked me to be the confident person I am today

trentjacksonlive: well, he's back in the states, I'm actually packing as we speak, I have a flight to catch in the morning to go and see him.

Tru Sinceer: Oh cool...it's always good to see, speak and hang our inspirations...

Tru Sinceer: And along with being inspired there are those "HATERS" who as for me inspire me as well...but how do you handle that? With any level of success there is ALWAYS one hating and/or doubting...how do you handle that or address it?

trentjacksonlive: when you operate out of security, the shit that people say to you doesn't even bother you, especially if it's false. I'll say this, when the sun shines, you don't stand in it for too long, you get burned. When you are who you are, people will eventually move the fuck out of your way. Especially if they are going out of their way to ensure that you don't progress. People have the game twisted, you can't expect to prosper when you fuck over people. Karma is moving quicker than ever these days, and I'd be scared to fuck over people.

The Day After...

Great day to all my fellow Blogger's and Blog readers!

I apologize for not posting some "funny food for thought" on "KACKLE TUESDAY" but yesterday was nothing to "KACKLE" about especially if you are an African-American in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

Who do we think we are NOT?

I understand there is a GREAT sense of pride, hope, inspiration, joy, anticipation, wealth, encouragement, for MOST of America after witnessing the Inauguration of the 44th President of the United States Barack Obama!

Cetainly those emotions are NOT to be taken ligthly or overlooked and for BLACK AMERICA those feelings are magnified 200 times over!

On April 4th 1968 in Memphis, TN one of the GREATEST Civil Rights Leaders Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., was brutally murdered...

Murdered for standing on the principal that ALL Americans mainly "Negro's" would have the same common birth rights as citizens of the United States ought to have, murdered so "Negro's" can dare to dream the impossible dream and acheive it, murdered so "Negro's" can be judged based on the contents of their character and NOT the color of their skin, murdered so there could be a BARACK OBAMA!

April 4th, 1968 was a dark and dreadful day and I can not even begin to wrap my mind around the feelings "Negro's" experienced on April 4th 1968... I can't imagine how those alive then felt every last belief, thought and hope for equality was RAPED so violently out of their heart and lives...

But fast forward 40 years...we're reminded that his LIFE and GREAT sacrifices and many other unsung civil right hero's alike who where beaten, bitten, hosed down, tormented, spat upon, verbally abused and even MURDERED is and was not ALL in vein!

Today I say "I SPEAK YOUR NAME!"

For the BLACK AMERICANS who lived before and through the M.L.K. era and endured great depths of disrespect and are here TODAY... for BLACK AMERICANS like myself who wasn't born then but are cognizant of their history...to witness the Inauguration of the FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA BARACK OBAMA with the FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN FIRST LADY MICHELLE OBAMA by his side is the HUGE contributing factor, reason and purpose we as AFRICAN-AMERICANS have a heigthen sense of PRIDE and JOY!

Certainly we have many more roads to trod, many more wounds to heal, and many more doors to open but the Inauguration assured African-Americans that we are relevant, birthed the dormant potential of within us, restored a level of raped pride within us, gave a true and sincere sense of pride within us, as well as made some do some soul-searching to REALLY look and identify with the man in the mirror!

That's why we're happy and overjoyed with emotions as "African-Americans"...

It was JUST almost 41 years ago we where not seen and/or respected as "equals" and brutally RAPED of our sense of pride and hope and to come to make it too Tuesday January 20th 2009 and witness the Inauguration of the FIRST AFRICAN-AMERICAN PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA is something to take PRIDE in!

In the words of Dr. Joseph E. Lowery..."I long to see the day Blacks can sit back, Browns can get around, Yellows can be mellow, Reds can get ahead and Whites will do what's right!"

Have you ever felt this way?

Sometimes you just feel like an "aaahhh..." in your spirit...

Sometimes you do all you can do just to keep it together and JUST when you think you're going to see the light of day here comes another storm to make you feel like "aaahhh...",

Why keep trying?

Why keep extending MY olive branch?

Why am I always the one to make the first kind gesture?

Why am I always the one extending, no...OVER extending myself to be a blessing to someone else and no one does it for me?

Why? Why? Why?

AAAAHHHH!!!!!!

Will I ever be understood?

So many questions and so little time to obtain answers...

I understand the race is NOT given to the swift nor the battle unto the strong BUT to the one who endures...and God NEVER specified how much I had to endure to win the race...

But it doesn't appear as if I'm winning...so am I NOT enduring?

Aaaahhh...

These are a FEW of the multiple questions that run through my mind during the course of a day ...

But regardless of what betides, I and others alike can not become JADED by our situations and/or circumstances!

This too shall pass...

Sorrow looks BACK, Worry looks AROUND, but FAITH looks up!

To Marry or NOT too Marry...

Who are we as a society to dictate to anyone else who they can and can NOT marry and/or who they may and may not love?

There has been a plethora of issues and outpouring from the L.G.B.T. community after the rejection of "prop. 8" ballad in the 11/03/08 historical election.

I hear so many erroneous rebuttals as to why the "majority" is and was right and justified in their decision of voting against "prop. 8" and a lot of it has been centered around religion purpose and practice's!

As Neffe would say "ARE YOU SERIOUS?!?!"

Now since when we as a "society" have become so religious and self-righteous?

I've personally seen some beautiful same sex relationships as well as some beautiful opposite sex relationships and if people grow to the point in THEIR relationship to stand before the laws of land, friends and family alike to make the proclamation of THEIR love and commit to one another for the rest of THEIR lives who are we to stop that commitment and say it's NOT valid?

We ALL agree "love" sees no color, gender, race, AND religion...

Therefore if "LOVE" crosses all boundaries then why do we try to confine "love"?

If it's the argument of religious purposes and reasoning behind the votes against "prop 8"... I often wonder if people voted "no" thinking they would receive some "extra credit" with God or have their sins and many wrongs erased all while finding a "deeper connection" with God?

Hhhhhmmmmm...

-Although I'm not married and have sex as often as I want, if I vote "NO" God will overlook my wrongs...

-I don't pay my tithes or dedicate 10% of my time to the Lord's ministry but if I vote "NO" this will make up for all that...

-I'm a downlow case and no one suspects me (so YOU think...) and although no one can see my vote and/or know I voted "YES" (unless YOU tell them), if, if I vote "NO" I will appear to be a little more "discreet" and "dl" to the WORLD!!

To marry or NOT to marry is the question...

I personally believe EVERYONE in this free world should be FREE to love who they want to love and be who they feel they are as long as they are NOT hurting anyone else and/or themselves!

What people do in their lives, behind closed doors, IS between them and GOD...them AND GOD...THEM AND GOD!!!

Who are we to judge?
